EFCC Resumes Interrogation of Ex-FIRS Boss over Allegation of N5bn Diversion
The former Chairman of the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS), Mr. Babatunde Fowler, is being questioned by the operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) over allegation of diversion of N5bn during his stay in office.
Fowler was said to have visited the Lagos office of EFCC Monday where a source said he had gone to answer query on the allegation against him.
However, it was gathered that the EFCC is yet to make public specific allegations against the former FIRS boss.
The agency, according to our source, is generally looking at transactions in FIRS during his stay in FIRS as a result of petitions received by EFCC.
A former managing director of Alpha Beta Consulting, Mr. Oladapo Apara, had made certain allegations which led to the invitation of Fowler by the EFCC about two weeks ago.
