League Holds AGM, Re-elects Anaroke, Fadeyi, Ugwoke, Others

The League of Maritime Editors and Publishers Thursday held its Annual General Meeting (AGM) in Lagos where it gave a clean slate to the serving executive members and re-elected them for another term of two years.
Among the officers returned were the President, Mr Kingsley Anaroke; Vice President -Mr Shola Fadeyi; Francis Ugwoke – Secretary General; Mr Okey Iroegbu – Asst Secretary General and Mr. Felix Kumuyi- Financial Secretary.
Others include Mr Mazi Tony Ohakwe – Treasurer; Mr. Shola Mekusi – Welfare Officer and Mr Friday Odoemena – Public Relations Officer.
President of League, Anaroke, in his speech after the election thanked members for the confidence reposed in the executive members which was the reason for returning them for a second term.
He said the Exco had on assuming office in 2018 embarked on rebranding project agenda, adding that this was to give League a new image and status in the industry.
He said that so far the League has been positioned in the maritime industry as a chief media advocate and leader among other groups.
Anaroke promised that the Exco will continue to work hard for the best interest of the League and justify the confidence reposed in the leadership.
Publisher of Shipping World Magazine, Elder Asu Beks who was the Returning Officer for the election commended the manner in which the it was conducted smoothly without any acrimony.
He advised the new exco to work hard for the betterment of the group in the next two years.
He commended the immediate past Exco led by Anaroke for getting an exquisite office for the League which is located at First Avenue, Festac Town.
He said this was something the group could not achieve for the past 22 years.
The new office would be commissioned very soon.
Other members who spoke advised the new exco to work in harmony in order to achieve the dream of the group.
