S’East Governors to Unveil Regional Security Outfit Soon, Says Umahi
A regional outfit for the South East will soon be unveiled, the Chairman of the South-east Governors’ Forum, Chief David Umahi, disclosed weekend.
Umahi after a virtual meeting said the forum will in its next meeting name the outfit.
He said that the plan was for each state to pass a law to give the outfit a legal backing.
He also told journalists that the Second Niger Bridge will be completed and handed over in August 30, 2022.
The South East governors commended President Muhammadu Buhari for efforts to ensure speedy completion of Niger Bridge and renovation of Akanu Ibiam International Airport, Enugu.
He said that once the two projects are completed, the South East governors would seek federal government intervention to fund the rehabilitation of eastern railway corridor.
