Benue Boat Mishap: 14 Bodies Recovered
Fourteen dead bodies have been recovered after the River boat mishap which sad incident occurred on Sunday.
Benue Police Command Public Relations Officer (PPRO) DSP Catherine Anene, confirmed this in a statement released Tuesday.
Anene said that only two passengers were rescued while other victims were still missing as at Tuesday.
The boat was conveying members of the Evangelical Church Winning All (ECWA) in Adeke community, Makurdi, to a programme when the mishap occurred.
She added, “The tragic incident of 5/7/2020 kept the command searching and hoping that victims of the boat mishap would be rescued alive.
“Regrettably, a total of 14 corpses: 8 females and 6 males, were recovered from the river while other victims still missing.”
