Nigeria Records 31 Cases of COVID-19, as Akiku’s Son Tests Positive

*Lagos tells workers some workers to stay at home
Nigeria as at Sunday night recorded 31 cases of Coronavirus (COVID-19), away from the Saturday figure of 22 cases.
This was disclosed by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control in its twitter handle last night.
The agency gave a breakdown of 22 cases in Lagos, four in Abuja, one in Oyo and another one in Ekiti state.
Also Sunday night, the former Vice President Atiku Abubakar revealed that his son had tested positive for the disease.
Atiku had tweeted, “My son has tested positive to coronavirus. @NCDCGov has been duly informed, and he has been moved to Gwagwalada Specialist Teaching Hospital in Abuja for treatment and management. “I will appreciate it if you have him in your prayers. Stay safe, coronavirus is real.”
The NCDC which said that out of the 31 cases, two have been discharged with no deaths.
Meanwhile, the Lagos state governor, Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu had at a press conference directed civil servants from grade level 1-12 to stay at home for the initial period of 14 days.
He added, “In addition to this directive, I am now also directing all public officers in the entire unified public service from grade level 1 to 12, which constitute about 70 per cent of our workforce, to stay at home from Monday, March 23 for 14 days at the first instance.”
However, medical personnel, workers of agencies involved in essential services, including the Lagos State Emergency Management Authority and their counterparts in the Lagos State Waste Management Authority are not part of the stay at home directive.
