FG Appoints Bashir Jamoh to Replace Dakuku as NIMASA DG
*Anxiety as NIMASA staff await official announcement
The federal government is reported to have appointed Dr. Bashir Jamoh as the Director General of the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA).
The appointment according to The Wheel and The Cable, both online publications, has been approved by President Muhammadu Buhari.
The official announcement is however yet to be made public by the federal government.
This was as Dakuku’s tenure ends next week , March 10.
Jamoh who has 32 years working experience is currently the Director, Finance and Administration in the agency.
The incoming DG who is 56 years holds a PhD on logistics and transport management from the University of Port Harcourt.
He holds a master’s degree in management from Korea Maritime and Ocean University, post-graduate diploma in management sciences from Bayero University, Kano and diploma in accounting from Ahmadu Bello University Zaria.
He is from Kaduna State and the present President of the Chartered Institute of Transport Administration of Nigeria (CIoTA).
Jamoh, author , joined NIMASA in 2003 as an assistant chief commercial officer, eastern and central zones.
Sources close to the agency said there is an anxiety among staff of the agency as they await an official announcement to be released by the Presidency.
It is believed that the announcement may be released before March 10 when Dakuku’s tenure ends.
