Xmas/New Year: IGP Orders Tight Security
The Inspector-General of Police, Mr. Mohammed Adamu Sunday ordered police commands and formations to begin tight security throughout the country for the Christmas and New Year celebrations.
The order was contained in a statement issued by the force spokesman, DCP Frank Mba.
In the statement, officers were given instructions to protect major highways, recreational centres, motor parks, places of worship, financial institutions, government and private infrastructure during the period of the celebrations.
Part of the statement reads, “In addition, the IG directs that the supervisory officers must ensure that they are personally on the ground to monitor and supervise the officers and men under their watch for optimal performance.”
Meanwhile, the Customs is to spend the sum of N238.2 billion for 2020 as approved by the House Committee on Customs.
Chairman of the Committee, Hon. Abdullahi Garba gave the breakdown as N98.6 billion for personnel cost, N16 billion for overhead cost, and N123.6 billion for capital projects.
