The House of Representatives Thursday directed the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) to produce original contractual agreement for the renovation of its corporate headquarters in Marina, Lagos.
The contract was awarded about 9 years ago.
Chairman of House Committee on Public Accounts, Hon Wale Oke, during a public hearing by the Committee said the need for the directive was as a result of the query from the office of the Auditor-General of the Federation on the contract which has a completion period of 15 months.
The House is particularly concerned that as at 2013 when the contract should have been completed, no agreement was signed between the NPA and contractor.
But Managing Director of NPA, Hadiza Bala Usman, had however said that records showed that there was a contractual agreement signed by both parties.
