The League of Maritime Editors and Publishers has taken a life insurance policy for its members.
The insurerfor the 16 members of the League is the Mutual Insurance Group Plc.
President of the Group, Mr Kingsley Anaroke who spoke at the ceremony to hand over the insured sum to the insurance group said it is part of the welfare programme of members.
Anaroke said the insurance policy was very necessary for every practising journalist because of the peculiar nature of the profession.
The representative of the company, Mr Anusionwu Ikechukwu who received the cheque on behalf of the company promised that association will not regret for taking up the policy.
