CBN Boosts Forex Market with $210m
The Central Bank of Nigeria Tuesday injected 210 million dollars in the foreign exchange market.
The CBN Director of Corporate Communications Department, Mr. Isaac Okorafor, in a statement said authorized dealers in the market were given 100 million dollars..
Okoroafor said the Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) window were allocated the sum of 55 million dollars, while customers requiring foreign exchange for invisibles such as tuition fees, medical payments and Basic Travel Allowance (BTA) received 55 million dollars.
A report by the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) shows that the CBN had in July 12 also injected 298.7 million dollars and CNY39.6 million into the Retail Secondary Market Intervention Sales (SMIS) segment, NAN.
