New NNPC MD Promises to End Fuel Import by 2023
The new Group Managing Director of Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, NNPC, Mallam Mele Kyari, Monday said his plan is to end fuel importation before the end 2023.
Kyari made the promise during the valedictory session for the former Group Managing Director of NNPC, Dr. Maikanti Baru in Abuja.
He said that the new management of the NNPC will aim to transform the country into a net export of petroleum products.
He said that part of his plans is to encourage Public Private Partnership in the efforts to revamp of the refineries as well as support private individuals in building of conventional and modular refineries.
He promised that the NNPC would provide incentives to assist the petroleum industry grow crude oil production to three million barrels per day and increase the country’s crude oil reserves to 40 billion barrels
