Vice President Visits Apapa Ports, Promises to Find Solution to Gridlock

The Vice President, Prof Yemi Osinbajo Saturday visited Lagos ports with an assurance to find a lasting solution to the gridlock in Apapa.
Osinbajo who was in Apapa with the Lagos State governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, assured that the federal government is making all efforts to end the gridlock.
The Vice President and the Lagos State Governor were at the Lilypond Transit Truck Park to see the level of work done so far,
Osinbajo said government was determined to ease the current congestion on the roads leading to the Apapa ports.
Noting that Mile 2 area remains the major problem, the Vice President however said that in a couple of days the issues will be addressed.
He noted the problem was that the port was designed to take 34 million metric tonnes of cargo as against 80 million tones that it is handling now, adding that this means a solution has to be found.

He identified the Lekki Port as part of the solution when completed , adding that it will support the Apapa and Tin Can ports.
