Seme Border Gets New Cargo Scanner Donated by EU
The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) and the Beninoise Customs have taken delivery of a new cargo scanner for the Seme Border station.
The scanner was donated by the European Union for joint border use.
The Controller, Seme Area Command of the NCS, Comptroller Muhammed Uba, told newsmen Tuesday that the scanner is already being test-run.
Uba also said that the scanner will be maintained by the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) for two years.
He disclosed that officers of the two countries have been trained on how to use the scanner, particularly on how to read images.
Uba also told newsmen that his Command generated the sum of N2.7 billion in revenue and seizures in the months of March and May.
