INEC Declares Buhari Winner of 2019 Presidential Election
President Muhammadu Buhari was early this morning announced the winner of the 2019 presidential election.
Buhari won with 15,191,847 votes as against his Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) opponent, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar who scored 11,262,978 votes.
The National Chairman of the National Independent Electoral Commission, Prof. Mahmood Yakubu, who made the announcement at about 4.30am Wednesday said Buhari defeated 73 other candidates who participated in the polls.
The President won the highest number of votes in Kano, Kaduna, Katsina, Jigawa, Yobe, Borno, Bauchi, Gombe, Nasarawa, Niger, Ogun, Osun, Ekiti, Lagos, Kogi, Kwara, Kebbi, Sokoto and Zamfara states.
On the other hand, his closest rival, Atiku won in Adamawa, Taraba, Plateau, Oyo, Ondo, Imo, Enugu, Edo, Ebonyi, Benue, Anambra, Adamawa, Abia, Cross River, Rivers, Delta, Bayelsa and Akwa Ibom.
