In Reprisal Attack, Indian Hemp Farmers Kill Four NDLEA Officials in Ondo

Four operatives of the Nigerian Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) have been killed in Ondo State.

The killing which is suspected to be a reprisal attack was carried out on Sunday at a checkpoint mounted by the officials of the agency.

The attack occurred at Sobe -Ifon Road in Ose Local Government Area (LGA) of the state during which only one official escaped death.
It was gathered that the attackers had arrived the checkpoint in a motorcycle with their AK 4 rifles hidden in their native clothes.

The deceased officers were identified as Mohammed lliyasu, Abduljalad Mohammed, Wellington Emmanuel and Magaji Aliu.
The attackers who were suspected as Indian hemp farmers had also carted away the rifles belonging to the NDLEA operatives.
They had also set the Toyota Hilux patrol van on fire in what was a clear reprisal attack.
It was gathered that the bodies of the NDLEA officials were discovered on the road side by farmers in the area.
A source told SHIPPING DAY that operatives of the NDLEA had sometimes ago raided Indian hemp farms in which the farmers lost millions of Naira drugs.
The sad incident was confirmed by the NDLEA Commander in Ondo State, Mr. Haruna Dagara, who said the killing was intentional.
